hallelujah another dream come true! hehehe, this one being getting to share the stage with one of those bands that you see and wish that one day you’ll be able to play with but figure what are the chances, i mean, realistically right?! but then it turns out the chances are like oh snaps! YES! woo hoo! wow, hahah, THIS was that show!

Black Square (ska/punk/reggae) was that band and it was all put together for us last-minute by my awesome former communications professor from HPU, Dr. Serena Hashimoto, a.k.a. manager for Black Square. the venue?! kick-ass joint The Waterfront?! amazing place you guys! this spot is ’bout to drop it like it’s blaze-red hot! oh yea! fo’ sho’ no doubt, and we hope to be there when it does 😉 so hi-o! watch out!

hahah, now, on to the show. we were forced (mostly cos of illness) to rock this show four members down. myself, changer, and dj kenny k had to bring it and rep peaceofmind HARRD in the absence of our bandmates dirck, melanie, shaddy and chris. but after a couple of jager shots on the house (courtesy of Tara & Vinnie! thanks guys! you rock!), we hit the stage and jammed a sweet 30-minute set. definitely different, but definitely still fun 🙂

after that, most the crew split on account of work the next morning, but i decided to hang and support our fellow musicians (especially ones with such talent and down-to-earth demeanors), accomplishing said feat by simply sticking around and grooving with their music (which, remember y’all, is one of the BESTEST ways to support a musician and create a great feeling for the performers!) boy oh boy Lord have mercy on me am i glad i stuck around! Black Square tore the place down! and best part was that it was SOO intimate, i’m talking like me, myself, and 3 hot-ass ska girls goin’ it solo and holdin’ it down on the dance floor with the band literally posted an arm’s length away! hehehe oh man! good times good times!

most definitely check the Black Square homeys out guys n’ gals. and a huge thanks to all our L.A. peeps for making it out and supporting our set! you guys mean the world to us and straight up made our night.

thanks again, and as always, peace & love y’all. ’til the next one!
