The Royal Falconer in Redlands
October 29, 2009
balance. it’s just one of those truths of the world. and so, this show was one of those balancing points for us. coming off of a pair of super high live n’ jive shows, it was only right that the universe make it known and graciously remind us of how dope and rare real people of integrity and character are and how you should do when you come across those of their kind. always cherish and treasure them. remember that, cos that’s the truth right there 😉
now check it, this show was booked off the strength of a random last-minute impromptu freestyle performance by myself on the mic, changer on guitar, shaddy on bass, and mcdon on the drums at the royal falconer in riverside a mere 5 days prior! props to Ralph of the band Sheepdog for hooking that performance up.
now, it was the fellow in-charge of booking bands at the falconer who booked us to play this show in redlands and it was he who after the riverside falconer show was popping off about how “amazing” we were and dropping his hollywood status and connect’s on us before we could even get a word in edge-wise! haha, see, he wanted us to come and rock the redlands falconer for him, which we decided would be mucho fun and so naturally, we agreed to play. come night of the show, we bring it mad live and jive, but not before having to run the gauntlet of shadyness that one often times finds exhibited by certain “types” (you all know the kind, the ones with ’em super egos! hot shiznit, the ones a tad bit tough to deal with normal-style ya dig?!).
hahah, but anyhow, point be told, we didn’t go on as we had been told prior, and so naturally, the general feeling amongst the band prior to show-time was a bit of a down-trodden one. but! try as the negative does to seep in and bring us down, it could not for long, as we remembered why we rock shows in the first place! for our peoples! those who live n’ give like us 🙂 and it was this realization which we immediately latched on to and which became responsible for propping us high up in the sky like birds flyin’ on high!
now, armed with that feeling, we proceeded to rock the joint hardcore rejuvenated! it was an awesome sight to behold, guys n’ gals throwing it up, sexy ladies bumping and grinding each other’s bodies in every which way imaginable, straight up just everybody having a kick-ass time all around! hahah, we even got to perform a mini all-acoustic freestyle set after our main set and rock the house a 2nd time! booyah!
hahah, all in all, all worked out supah dope freshtastic and once again our fans delivered huge in the clutch! thank you so much guys n’ gals! you know who you are 😉 and mos’ def, we’ll see you at the next one!
peace & love family!
